Baking Time: 25 Minutes
Total Time: 1 hour and 32 Minutes/92 Minutes
Serving size: 18 (for brioche buns) Or 2 (for brioche bread)
What you need:
- 6 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 6 Eggs (Large)
- 1 cup Milk (Lukewarm)
- 1 cup of melted butter
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, add together all of the dry ingredients and mix them to combine.
- In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs, add the milk, and mix the ingredients until well combined.
- Now add in and mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients; mix them just until combined, then slowly add in the butter little by little and knead until the dough is smooth.
- Cover the bowl and let it rest for 2 hours, then divide the dough into 2 equal portions. One portion will create the brioche buns and the other one will make the bread.
- To make the buns, take one portion of the dough and divide it into small, even portions. Shape these into a ball and then transfer them to a baking tray lined with parchment paper and greased with a little bit of butter. Let this dough rest for 30 minutes.
- To make the bread, roll the other portion of the dough into a loaf shape, making sure to seal the sides properly. Place this into a baking pan lined with parchment paper and greased with a little bit of butter. Cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- While the bread/buns are resting, pre-heat the oven to 375°F.
- Brush the bread/buns with a beaten egg or an egg white. Then put both of these in the oven and bake for 25 minutes. After it is done baking, place these on a cooling rack and cover with a damp cloth for 5-7 minutes. Once they have cooled down to a comfortable temperature, take them out of the tray and place them on the cooling rack to cool them completely.
